August-Don’t Let the Summer Unravel!

As the summer comes to an end, we’re fitting in last-minute summer plans and preparing for the first day of school. This month we’re channeling that energy into crocheting old patterns with a new twist. We’re always amazed at how a simple change in yarn type can give new life to a plushie. These adorable farm animal patterns by Jess Huff were some of our favorite beginner projects, and making them again recently, with more experience and a better grasp of the craft, feels like a real full-circle moment.

With the first day of school quickly approaching, we’re also focusing on getting our own kids back into school routines. With memories of our own kids’ first day of school, we decided to try to ease some momma’s minds with a special on our mini plushies turned into backpack charms. Having something cozy and comforting to carry with them through the day can really ease the hearts and minds of those sweet kiddos as they venture into a whole new world of learning!

While Summer is still in full swing, Fall is nearing, and that means festivals and seasonal events are quickly approaching. This month, we will be at LongStone Crafters Market in Hamburg on the 15th, and then on to one of our favorite events of the year, the Rod Run in Cynthiana on the 22nd. Rod Run is a free downtown cruise-in with tons of cool cars, good food, live entertainment, and just a really fun day in downtown Cynthiana. Mark your calendars, enjoy this beautiful season, and don’t forget to stop by our booth and find your favorite!
